Bo Stern knows the most beautiful things can come out of the hardest times. Her Goliath came in the form of her husband’s terminal illness, a battle they are still fighting with the help of their four children, a veritable army of friends, and our extraordinary God.

I enjoyed the honesty of this book.  Bo Stern talks about studying the battle stories of the Bible, looking for principles to help in this "fight".   She writes that sometimes the energy invested in "surviving" can leave us with little strength to see the the "treasure".   She talks about the Genesis 50:20 principle being part of the beauty that she and her husband have found in this fight.  God is doing something BIGGER than we can see or understand.  She writes about the "enoughness" of God...and how the Word of God is a reliable strength and refuge.  I think of a book like this as "listening" to someone give testimony once again to the faithFULLness of God. (and I need many reminders!).
